Appliance Hook-up for Oregon City Homes

Appliance hook-up in Oregon City is the plumbing work required to connect a new or replacement appliance to your existing water supply, drain, and gas lines. This includes running a water supply line to a refrigerator ice maker, connecting dishwasher supply and drain hoses, hooking up a washing machine, and connecting gas flex lines for ranges and dryers. We handle appliance hook-ups across Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties as part of our remodel and installation services from our Oregon City plumbing team.

When you need appliance hook-up

If you bought a new dishwasher, refrigerator, washing machine, or gas range and need it connected, the delivery team often will not handle the plumbing or gas connections. If your new appliance is a different size or configuration than the old one, the existing supply or drain connections may not line up and need adapting. If you are adding an ice maker water line to a refrigerator that did not have one before, a supply line has to be run from the nearest cold water pipe. If you smell gas after connecting a range or dryer yourself, shut off the gas valve and call a plumber immediately.

Older homes in Park Place and the South End sometimes have appliance connections that were done without proper shutoff valves. A hook-up is a good time to add individual valves so you can isolate each appliance without shutting off water to the whole house.

Our appliance hook-up process

We start by checking the existing supply and drain connections to see what is in place and what needs to be added or replaced. For dishwashers, we connect the hot water supply line, secure the drain hose to the disposal or sink drain with a high loop or air gap, and make sure the unit is level. For refrigerator ice makers, we run a supply line from the nearest cold water pipe and install a dedicated shutoff valve.

For gas appliances, we connect the gas flex line to the shutoff valve, tighten all fittings, and test every joint with a gas leak detector. We turn on each appliance, run a cycle, and check for leaks at the supply connection, the drain, and the gas line if applicable.

Appliance hook-up cost in Oregon City

A single appliance hook-up where the connections are already in place is one of the simpler plumbing calls. Connecting multiple appliances at once, running a new ice maker line, or adding shutoff valves where none exist increases the scope. Gas connections take more time than water-only hookups because of the leak testing required. We look at what you need connected, tell you the price, and handle it. Call (503) 919-7243 to schedule.

Imagine my distress when I stepped into the garage for my doggo's kibble, only to see a small 'creek' meandering away from the water heater—from the water cascading down the outside of the tank from the TOP!

GASP! I turned the gas, water, and electricity off, and called my contractor for help. Little did I know I would be referred to plumbing specialists extraordinaire, Principled Plumbing.

When Nate (the owner) arrived, he explained the issues, gave me options, and then his crew arrived early the next day to install a tankless heater. They were professional, very personable, and cleaned up spic and span. Nate and his crew stayed late until the job was finished, even though they had to route a new gas line. I 100% recommend them for any of your plumbing needs!

So glad we hired Principled Plumbing for our bathroom renovation. They are installing shower Phylrich fixtures and new outdoor shower. The whole team was professional, prompt, and worked with care. Zachary, Michael and George did great work and we felt confident that we were in excellent hands. Zachary installed a beautiful copper outdoor shower for us. So stoked, it’s exactly what we wanted. Nate, the owner, is super communicative and values excellent customer service - it shows and makes a difference. It’s not worth working with a company that is like pulling teeth for responses. You won’t have that with Principled Plumbing and this team. Thanks guys!
